Allison Graupera, LCPC
“You don’t need to come to therapy with the right words or a perfectly defined goal. We can start with what you know and get curious about the rest.”.
Allison Graupera is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience. She works with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, OCD, substance use and recovery, low self-esteem, and relationship or family challenges. She helps people through school or work stress and major life transitions.
Allison looks beyond the problem that brings someone to therapy. She wants to understand how each person sees the world, what matters to them, how they respond when life becomes difficult, and which patterns keep repeating. She shapes therapy around the person rather than expecting the person to fit a set formula.
Sessions with Allison include honest conversation, thoughtful questions, and practical strategies. She helps clients understand their emotions and try new ways of responding when they feel stuck. Allison believes people can feel understood while also being challenged to look at themselves and their choices in new ways.
She sees clients’ interests as part of understanding who they are. A favorite game, sport, song, book, or movie can become a natural way to talk about relationships, identity, pressure, resilience, or change without making therapy feel like a classroom.
Her background includes community mental health, outpatient therapy, individual therapy, and higher levels of care. Allison uses various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy. She says, “Therapy should make sense to you. I want you to leave with something you can actually use in your life.”
