Harvey Martin, Psychologist, Ph.D.
Working with couples, individuals, and young adults, I help people identify what isn’t working in their life and develop a plan of action. Perhaps you feel your job, kids, or marriage are pulling you down and you don’t know how to fix it. Or maybe you and your spouse are constantly fighting. Sometimes it just may be that you’re frustrated you’re not making meaningful progress in your life. Finding a therapist who is right for you is a huge step toward making the changes you want.
I am licensed clinical psychologist and have been providing therapy for over 20 years. There are many factors that determine whether therapy is effective. The most powerful factor is the quality of the therapeutic relationship that is formed between the client and the therapist. There are two factors that drive my work with clients. First, I view each client as an individual, and not merely a diagnosis requiring a standard protocol. Second, I continually monitor whether our work together is helping you meet your goals and adjust accordingly. I do not use a cookie-cutter approach.
Areas where I can help include personal relationships, anxiety, adult attention deficit disorder (ADD), as well as depression. I draw from a wide range of therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Interpersonal Psychology (IPT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).
I also enjoy working with couples. I have completed advanced level 3 training in Gottman Relationship Therapy; a psychoeducational approach that give the couples structure and guidelines to a build healthier relationship.
If you are ready to take the next step to building a different life, I am here to help.
