Michelle Howell, Psychologist, Psy.D.
“The goal isn’t to become an ideal version of yourself—it’s to become more fully who you are.”
Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who works with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, stress, life transitions, and concerns related to identity, self-esteem, and emotional well-being. She is particularly interested in helping clients understand not only what they are feeling, but also the experiences, relationships, expectations, and patterns that may be shaping those feelings.
With 16 years of clinical experience, Michelle brings a broad and thoughtful perspective to therapy. She views emotional health as connected to the whole person—including the mind, body, relationships, lifestyle, values, and sense of meaning. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), offering clients practical strategies while also making room for deeper reflection and self-understanding.
Michelle’s style is compassionate, genuine, and collaborative. She does not approach therapy with a predetermined idea of who a client should become. Instead, she helps clients slow down, become more curious about themselves, recognize what is no longer serving them, and make choices that feel more consistent with who they are and how they want to live. With teens, she is also sensitive to the challenges of developing an identity, managing increasing expectations, and finding a voice within family and peer relationships.
“My role is not to provide someone with a formula for the person they should be,” Michelle says. “It is to help them understand themselves more fully, reconnect with their strengths and values, and find a way forward that feels authentic to them.”
