Carol Powers, LPC
“It’s never too late to redefine your path and discover new possibilities.”.
Carol is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with both teens and adults as they navigate life’s challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and ADHD. With teens and young adults, she often focuses on strengthening self-esteem, and building coping skills for school and life transitions. She also has experience supporting people dealing with health conditions and the stress that often comes with them.
In addition, Carol works with those struggling with substance abuse. She also helps family members of those struggling with substance use, and she has a particular interest in working with individuals who experience caretaking and codependency patterns. “I know how hard it can be to put everyone else first,” she says, “but therapy can help you create balance and reclaim your own direction.”
Her approach integrates evidence-based interventions such as CBT, mindfulness, and client-centered therapy. Carol creates a warm, calm, and accepting environment where clients feel truly heard. “My goal is to walk alongside you, so you feel supported in making the changes you want most,” she explains.
Before becoming a therapist, Carol worked as a clinical nurse and later in healthcare administration after completing an MBA from Loyola University. She later earned her Master’s in Counseling from Northwestern University. Having made a significant life change herself, Carol believes strongly that it is never too late to redefine your path, and she encourages clients to discover their own direction and possibilities.
