Lauren Johnson, LCSW
Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with children, adolescents, and adults since 2014. She is skilled in couseling children as young as 3 years old. She uses a variety of techniques such as, play therapy, sand tray therapy, and art therapy. She also works with teens and adults using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). This therapy addresses issues with trauma, loss, divorce and grief. It also addresses anxiety, substance abuse, depression, school and social issues, and behavioral issues.
She is passionate about working with kids and teens. Lauren knows how much the support means to them and how it can change the trajectory of their lives. “I love utilizing a variety of techniques to help them feel comfortable and safe, then seeing the changes they make in such a short time”.
She is trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). This is a highly regarded intervention for PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. She is a Level 1 Gottman trained couples’ therapist and certified in mediation and conflict resolution. Lauren likes to work with new couples who want to do premarital counseling to strengthen their relationship. She works with couples who find it difficult to get through common early marital struggles. She believes, “The earlier the better“ when seeking help for relationships.
